Soap Making Workshops
Cost: $115 per person, minumum of 5 students
Location: The Green Lace Lion Classroom
Supplies: All included
Instructor: Ellen Rivedal
Description: Soap Making 101-Cold Process Soap Making. This intro to soap making class is perfect for those interested in the whole process from start to finish. Supplies are included, but chances are you've been wanting to try this for a while (aka have a bin of supplies and want to know how to use them all) and just need that boost to get started and get over your fear of lye. You're welcome to email Ellen about bringing your own supplies so that you can repeat the process after the class at home. You will be walked through the whole process, learn about where to purchase supplies, and have instruction on each step of the way. You will fill one 8"x3.5"x2.5" wooden mold (that you take home!) with 30oz of soap base scented with your choice of fragrance oils, mica powders and inclusions (flowers, oatmeal, green tea etc.) The one loaf you make yields approximately eight 1" bars. Each student can now take their own soap mold home. After letting it set for 24 hours, you can slice your loaf into bars. The Soap has to cure for three weeks before it can be used. Space is limited to five students per class to ensure individualized attention.
*I would recomend wearing long sleeves and pants for this class
